About the Author:
John Gladstone, Life Member and Fellow of ASHRAE, has had over 40
years experience in every phase of the industry, including service,
construction, planning, engineering and sales management. He holds a
journeyman's card as well as a Master Mechanical Contractor's
License and speaks from authoritative experience to journeyman
mechanics, contractors and engineers alike. He was Chairman of the
Examinations Committee of the Dade County Contractor's Examining
Board (1965-1968) where he wrote some of the first contractor and
journeyman examinations in the nation.
Mr. Gladstone graduated from Miami-Dade Community College with
honors, took his Bachelor's degree at St Thomas and his Master's at
Vermont College. He taught air conditioning design and license
preparation at Miami-Dade Community College for many years.
Gladstone has written 11 books on air conditioning and
construction and is well-known for his many articles in the
professional journals; his work has been translated into Dutch and
Spanish. He was a founding member of the Associated Air Balance
Council (retired) and a Certificate Member of RSES (retired).
Founder of the Air Conditioning Academy in Dania in 1977, Mr.
Gladstone continues to be active in educational and industry
circles.
