This informative DVD will outline some of the legal concepts,
theories, defenses and steps that city code enforcement officers can
do to protect themselves. It covers the terminology, concepts and
principles of legal issues that affect code officials in the
administration of their duties. It will assist the code official,
architect or contractor in understanding the legal concepts related to
the model codes.
The distinction between local, state and federal law and the impact
that each has on the establishment and enforcement of the model codes
will be addressed. The DVD focuses on the three main law concepts that
the code official will encounter: Administrative, Constitutional and
Property Law Liability. Intentional and Negligent Wrongdoing and
Immunities also will be discussed.
