Simply place the measuring staff at one point (this will be your reference point) and move the scale so the water matches the zero, now whewrever you place the measuring staff you will get instant readings - 1/4" high, 3/8" low, etc. The WatrLevel a12 comes with the measuring staff (12" long with a range of +/- 8"), 50' of tubing (will measure a diameter of 100'), and a 1/2 gallon reservoir - all you need to quickly measure. In addition, you can use the WatrLevel for all your leveling needs, not just for trailer leveling. With the optional telescoping leg you can use it for decks, concrete work, fences, ponds, driveways, walkways, etc.
